Believe Republicans When They Say They Want Revenge

Newt Gingrich is not alone when it comes to the GOP wanting revenge against the January 6th commission

Last Sunday, Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House and candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, appeared on Fox “News” and predicted that not only will the GOP likely recapture the majority, but that once they do, members of the House January 6th Committee will subsequently be investigated and prosecuted.

“You’re going to have a Republican majority in the House and a Republican majority in the Senate. And all of these people who have been so tough and so mean and so nasty are going to be delivered subpoenas,” Gingrich explained, adding that the House members heading up the commission are “just running over the law.”

“And I think when you have a Republican Congress, this is all going to come crashing down,” Gingrich continued. “And the wolves are going to find out they are now sheep and they’re the ones who are going to face a real risk of, I think, jail for the kind of laws they’re breaking.”

Some have argued this attack from Gingrich speaks to how the commission’s work hits close to home because it targets Ross Worthington, who before working in the Trump White House as an advisor for policy…
