If He Means What He Says, Chris Christie Should Run
He may not win, the ex-governor may be right that he’s one of the few willing to actually fight Trump.
When asked if he would support Donald Trump as the Republican nominee for president in 2024 in an interview with Axios published on Tuesday, Chris Christie said: “I can’t help him. No way.”
“Look, I just can’t,” Christie continued. “When you have the Jan. 6 choir at a rally and you show video of it — I just don’t think that person is appropriate for the presidency.”
Christie is correct that a person that tried to overthrow the government with the use of a violent mob is not an appropriate choice for president.
Still, he is not willing to support the alternative in a general election.
“I can’t imagine myself voting for Joe Biden, either,” Christie explained. “ I don’t know if I can vote for either of these guys. They’re both too old. They’re both out of touch with what’s going on in the world right now.”
Chris Christie has made a noticeable effort to vocalize his disapproval of Trump — and the best ways to rid ourselves of him.
Last week, during his pundit gig on ABC News’ This Week, Christie decried the “circus” Trump created by professing that he would soon be arrested.
