Last Thursday, Stacey Abrams argued a simple point: abortion is an economic issue.

During an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, the Georgia gubernatorial candidate was asked about a recent interview former President Barack Obama gave to Pod Save America in which he dispensed advice to Democrats on how to best approach voters in the midterm elections.

I listened to that podcast interview, and his note to Democrats to not be a “buzzkill” was interesting given all the Republicans do is holler about doom and gloom based on the idea that white people are being replaced in America.

Is racism not a buzzkill? Is it not a bummer to persecute trans kids? Ain’t it a bit of a downer to try and shove every gay, bi, queer, person back into the closet?

I wish Obama would give Democrats the real advice they ought to hear: to control the message, buy TV stations and place better ads on Facebook and YouTube.

But everybody and their mama still loves Barry so of course Abrams said she agreed with Obama’s remarks.

After that, though, she pivoted to how abortion “is an economic issue” for women — highlighting…
