Where are Mitch McConnell’s people?
For the second time this summer, we watched the Senate Minority Leader freeze in front of reporters.
For a few seconds on Wednesday, I had pity for the Mister Burns of politics.
I do not like Mitch McConnell.
The number of reasons why feel infinite but to be concise, he has spent his entire life taking from the least of us to hand over to rich people. His policies have ruined and stolen lives. He is a terrible person and politician.
To be clear, he doesn’t deserve my or anyone’s pity.
Even so, he looked pretty damn pitiful taking questions from reporters after an event hosted by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
Once again, McConnell drifted away, standing frozen with his eyes vacant to the point one wonders if you’re watching a stroke happen in real time.
The 81-year-old senator, still recovering from injuries suffered from a fall earlier this year, was asked if he would seek reelection in 2026.
